In 2010 Broadway Impact is coming

to a Theatre near you!

For several decades in towns across Middle America, the local theater group has acted as the oasis to an LGBT community surrounded by inequality and conservative thought.  Even in the most closed minded of regions, one can go to its neighborhood community theater and be sure to find a troupe of artists who welcome diversity. In many ways, the Broadway stage is just an extension of that oasis.

Broadway is a community compiled of artists who made the pilgrimage from those small town theaters to the big streets of New York. Many of us did this not only to pursue our art form, but also to find sanctuary from intolerance.  Up until now we’ve taken refuge in New York’s open minded communities, assuming that marriage equality is inevitable in the empire state.  The New York State Senate has shown us that equality can’t be taken for granted anywhere.  The quest for civil rights has to be fought in every corner of our nation.  The time has come for Broadway Impact to enlist the support of hometown community theatres from Seattle, WA to Blaine, MO. So now we ask that you send this message to your hometown.

“In 2010 Broadway Impact is coming to a theatre near you! “

We are calling on YOU to take part in our new venture to connect your hometown theatre to Broadway Impact. Join us in organizing a grassroots team across the country that will push the equality movement forward in 2010 and beyond!
